The species Tsukamurella pulmonis was originally described and validly published by Yassin et al. 1996. Teng et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Teng et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Olson et al. 2007 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2016.
