Nomenclatural History
The family Micromonosporaceae was originally proposed by Krasil'nikov 1938. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Goodfellow et al. published an emended description of this family in 1990. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Koch et al. in 1996, Stackebrandt et al. in 1997, Zhi et al. in 2009 and Nouioui et al. in 2018. Zhi et al. transferred the members of Couch 1955 (Approved Lists 1980) into this family in 2009.
