Nomenclatural History
The species Propionibacterium lymphophilum was originally described by Johnson and Cummins 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. In 2002, Stackebrandt et al. established as the basonym of (Torrey 1916) Stackebrandt et al. 2002 .
