Nomenclatural History
|
The species Nocardioides simplex was originally described by O'Donnell et al. 1982. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 12 in 1983. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. List Editor formed this name in 1983 by placing the species
Arthrobacter simplex (Jensen 1934) Lochhead 1957 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Nocardioides Prauser 1976 (Approved Lists 1980). Garrity et al. established Nocardioides simplex as a later homotypic synonym of
Pimelobacter simplex (Jensen 1934) Suzuki and Komagata 1983
in 2007.
