Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Friedmanniella was originally proposed and validly published by Schumann et al. 1997.
Friedmanniella antarctica is the type species of the genus Friedmanniella. The name of a taxon must be changed if the nomenclatural type of the taxon is excluded. Readers adopting the proposed unification of Friedmanniella and Microlunatus should be aware that the authors did not include Friedmaniella endophytica Tuo 2016 in their proposal, thus rendering that name illegitimate as it contravenes Rule 37a (1).
