Nomenclatural History
The genus Pseudonocardia was originally proposed by Henssen 1957. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Henssen published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Warwick et al. in 1994, Reichert et al. in 1998, Huang et al. in 2002 and Park et al. in 2008. Warwick et al. transferred the members of Lechevalier et al. 1986 into this genus in 1994. McVeigh et al. transferred the members of Akimov et al. 1989 into this genus in 1994. Huang et al. transferred the members of Jiang et al. 1991 into this genus in 2002.
