Nomenclatural History

The subspecies Amycolatopsis orientalis lurida was originally described by Grundy et al. 1957. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1986 the name was revived and validly published by Lechevalier et al.. Stackebrandt et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name
Amycolatopsis lurida (Lechevalier et al. 1986) Stackebrandt et al. 2004 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2004.
