The subspecies Amycolatopsis keratiniphila nogabecina was originally described by Wink et al. 2003. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 92 in 2003. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Al-Musallam et al. 2003) Wink et al. 2003 in 2018.
