Nomenclatural History	The species Amycolatopsis mediterranei was originally described and validly published by Lechevalier et al. 1986. Nouioui et al. published an emended description of this species in 2018. Lechevalier et al. formed this name in 1986 by placing the species Nocardia mediterranei (Margalith and Beretta 1960) Thiemann et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Amycolatopsis Lechevalier et al. 1986 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018.
