Nomenclatural History
The species Amycolatopsis rugosa was originally described by di Marco and Spalla 1957. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1986 the name was revived and validly published by Lechevalier et al.. In 1999, Kim and Goodfellow established as the basonym of (Lechevalier et al. 1986) Kim and Goodfellow 1999 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 . Garrity et al. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of (ex di Marco and Spalla 1957) Goodfellow and Lechevalier 1988 pro synon. Amycolatopsis rugosa (ex di Marco and Spalla 1957) Lechevalier et al. 1986 in 2007.
