Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 31 in 1989. The subspecies Saccharopolyspora hirsuta kobensis was originally described by Iwasaki et al. 1979. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1989 the name was revived by Lacey. Nouioui et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Lacey 1989) Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2018. Nouioui et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Zhang et al. 2009 in 2018.
