The subspecies Saccharopolyspora hirsuta taberi was originally described and validly published by Labeda 1987. Korn-Wendisch et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Labeda 1987) Korn-Wendisch et al. 1989 in 1989.
