Nomenclatural History
The genus Streptoalloteichus was originally proposed by Tomita et al. 1978. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1987 the name was revived and validly published by Tomita et al.. Tamura et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2008.
