The species Streptomyces abikoensis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of corrig. Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium ehimense (Shibata et al. 1954) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Arai et al. 1957) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium olivoreticuli corrig. (Arai et al. 1957) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon.
