The species Streptomyces albidoflavus was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong et al. published an emended description of this species in 2009. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Nouioui et al. in 2018. Rong et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Uma and Narasimha Rao 1959 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2009.
