The species Streptomyces aminophilus was originally described by Foster 1961. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces cacaoi cacaoi (Waksman 1932) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Lanoot et al. 2002
in 2002.
