Nomenclatural History

The species Streptomyces argenteolus was originally described by Tresner et al. 1961. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Liu et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces griseus (Krainsky 1914) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2005.
