Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. The species Streptomyces asterosporus was originally described by Krasil'nikov 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1957 the name was revived by Preobrazhenskaya. Komaki established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Backus et al. 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki 2021 in 2021. Komaki established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1957) Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki 2021 in 2021.
