The species Streptomyces atroaurantiacus was originally described by Nakagaito et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 46 in 1993. In 2009, Li et al. established as the basonym of (Nakagaito et al. 1993) Li et al. 2009 .
