Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 22 in 1986. The species Streptomyces aureorectus was originally described by Taig et al. 1969. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1983 the name was revived by Gause et al.. Li et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Backus et al. 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki 2021 in 2021.
