Nomenclatural History

The species Streptomyces avellaneus was originally described by Baldacci and Grein 1966. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nouioui et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces aureofaciens Duggar 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Groth et al. 2003
in 2018.
