The species Streptomyces bacillaris was originally described by Pridham 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong and Huang established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces griseobrunneus Waksman 1961 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2010.
