Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces biverticillatus was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Labeda established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of corrig. (Farina and Locci 1966) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 1996. Labeda established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Shinobu 1956) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 in 1996. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium hiroshimense (Shinobu 1955) Farina and Locci 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003. established as a later homotypic synonym of (Preobrazhenskaya 1957) Farina and Locci 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
