Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Streptomyces cacaoi cacaoi was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2002. In 1965, Isono et al. reduced (Waksman 1932) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies. Lanoot et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Foster 1961 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2002.
