Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces calvus was originally described by Backus et al. 1957. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki published an emended description of this species in 2021. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Li et al. in 2021. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Krasil'nikov 1970) Preobrazhenskaya 1986 in 2021. Li et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Taig et al. 1969) Gause et al. 1986 in 2021.
