Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces coelicolor was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Rossi Doria 1891) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 2009.
