Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces colombiensis was originally described by Pridham et al. 1958. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. published an emended description of this species in 2004. Lanoot et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium distallicum Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2004.
