The species Streptomyces cyanoalbus was originally described by Pridham 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Labeda et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces hirsutus Ettlinger et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Labeda et al. 2016
in 2016.
