The species Streptomyces endus was originally described by Anderson and Gottlieb 1952. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Jensen 1931) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki et al. 2022 in 2017.
