Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces filamentosus was originally described by Okami and Umezawa 1953. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lanoot et al. published an emended description of this species in 2004. Lanoot et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Falcão de Morais and Dália Maia 1961 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2004.
