The species Streptomyces geysiriensis was originally described by Wallhäusser et al. 1966. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces rochei Berger et al. 1953 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki 2021
in 2021.
