The species Streptomyces glomeroaurantiacus was originally described by Pridham 1970. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Saygin established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces aurantiacus (Rossi Doria 1891) Waksman 1953 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Saygin 2021
in 2021.
