The species Streptomyces gougerotii was originally described by Waksman and Henrici 1948. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki and Tamura established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces diastaticus (Krainsky 1914) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Komaki and Tamura 2020
in 2020.
