The species Streptomyces graminofaciens was originally described by Charney et al. 1953. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rong and Huang established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces halstedii (Waksman and Curtis 1916) Waksman and Henrici 1948 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
in 2010.
