Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces griseocarneus was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Locci et al. 1969) Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 in 2003. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1996 pro synon. Streptoverticillium alboverticillatum (ex Arai 1976) Locci and Schofield 1989 in 2003. established as a later homotypic synonym of (Benedict et al. 1950) Baldacci et al. 1966 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2017.
