The species Streptomyces griseoincarnatus was originally described by Pridham et al. 1958. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Komaki published an emended description of this species in 2021. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces asterosporus (ex Krasil'nikov 1970) Preobrazhenskaya 1986
in 2021. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces erythrogriseus Falcão de Morais and Dália Maia 1959 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2021. Komaki established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces variabilis (Preobrazhenskaya et al. 1957) Pridham et al. 1958 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2021.
