Nomenclatural History
Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . The species Streptomyces luteireticuli was originally described by Katoh and Arai 1957. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2003 the name was revived and validly published by Hatano et al..

The correction of luteoreticuli to luteireticuli by Hatano et al. contravenes Rule 61. Rule 61 states that the original spelling of a name or epithet must be retained except typographic or orthographic errors. The correction made by Hatano et al. as it corrects a grammatical error in changing the connecting vowel from "o" to "i".
