Nomenclatural History
The species Streptomyces mashuensis was originally described by Witt and Stackebrandt 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 38 in 1991. Witt and Stackebrandt formed this name in 1990 by placing the species (Sawazaki et al. 1955) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Idris et al. 2017. Hatano et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium kishiwadense (Shinobu and Kayamura 1964) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2003.
