Nomenclatural History
|
The species Streptomyces mediocidicus was originally described and validly published by Wellington et al. 1992. Wellington et al. formed this name in 1992 by placing the species
Kitasatospora mediocidica corrig. Labeda 1988 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
into the genus Streptomyces Waksman and Henrici 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Idris et al. 2017. Hatano et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Streptomyces blastmyceticus Witt and Stackebrandt 1991 pro synon. Streptoverticillium blastmyceticum (Watanabe et al. 1957) Locci et al. 1969 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2003.
