Nomenclatural History
The genus Pelodictyon was originally proposed by Lauterborn 1913. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Pfennig and Trüper published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Imhoff transferred the members of this genus into Nadson 1906 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Imhoff 2003 in 2003.
