Nomenclatural History
The species Azospirillum largimobile was originally described by Ben Dekhil et al. 1997. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 62 in 1997. Sly and Stackebrandt corrected this name from (sic) to . Ben Dekhil et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the subspecies Skerman et al. 1983 into the genus Tarrand et al. 1979 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Falk et al. 1985.
