Nomenclatural History	The subspecies Acetobacter aceti aceti was originally described by Beijerinck 1898. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 86 in 2008. De Ley and Frateur published an emended description of this subspecies in 1974. In 1974, De Ley and Frateur reduced Acetobacter aceti (Pasteur 1864) Beijerinck 1898 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hördt et al. 2020 to the rank of subspecies.
