Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Acetobacter aceti orleanensis was originally described by De Ley and Frateur 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lisdiyanti et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name (Henneberg 1906) Lisdiyanti et al. 2001 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 in 2000.
