Nomenclatural History
The species Acetobacter orleanensis was originally described by Lisdiyanti et al. 2000. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 79 in 2001. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Lisdiyanti et al. elevated the subspecies (Henneberg 1906) De Ley and Frateur 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of species to form this name in 2000.
