Nomenclatural History
The species Acidomonas methanolica was originally described and validly published by Urakami et al. 1989. Yamashita et al. published an emended description of this species in 2004. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020. Urakami et al. formed this name in 1989 by placing the species Uhlig et al. 1986 into the genus Urakami et al. 1989 emend. Yamashita et al. 2004.
