Nomenclatural History
The species Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus was originally described by Yamada et al. 1997. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 64 in 1998. Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Yamada et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the species Gillis et al. 1989 into the genus (sic) Yamada et al. 1998 corrig. Yamada et al. 1998.
