Nomenclatural History
The species Gluconacetobacter europaeus was originally described by Yamada et al. 1997. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 64 in 1998. Upon validation, this name was corrected from (sic) to . Yamada et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the species Sievers et al. 1992 into the genus (sic) Yamada et al. 1998 corrig. Yamada et al. 1998. In 2012, Yamada et al. established as the basonym of (Sievers et al. 1992) Yamada et al. 2013 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
