Anaplasma Theiler 1910 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Dumler et al. 2001
Nomenclatural History
The genus Anaplasma was originally proposed by Theiler 1910. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Ristic and Kreier published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Dumler et al. in 2001.

Dumler et al. 2001 proposed a "unification" of some species of Erlichia into Anaplasma. However, these were simply new combinations.
