Nomenclatural History

The species Ehrlichia muris was originally described and validly published by Wen et al. 1995. Dumler et al. published an emended description of this species in 2001. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020. In 2017, Pritt et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form
