There was no type strain provided for Melittangium boletus in the Approved Lists. Due to this fact, Reichenbach designated the type strain Me b8 (=DSM 14713=JCM 12633) as the type strain in Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology 2nd edition, vol. 2, and Lang and Reichenbach, 2013 formally proposed the deposits.
